2. BCH has updated the CSF panels in addition to a new ‘encephalitis’ panel – ED ordersets / preference list have been updated accordingly (shown in ED Febrile infant below as an example)
3. Making atypical fluids you can’t find through standard ordering/pathway ordersets? Please use the ‘IV fluid builder’ order to do so!
4. Your ASAP Team is working to improve the ED workflow for documenting new weights for the ED encounter / alerting when significantly out-of-range to prevent weight errors with cross-checks for our clinicians. Large safety focus now but please be vigilant… can always see as prescribers when last weight was documented and weight in your order window and the date the weight was completed.

Prescriptions: Now that our amazing pharmacists are back checking our prescriptions for error, please let us know if any prescription writing tools in Epic are particularly challenging / you’re concerned would lead to error as we have caught several issues with your help! Please also utilize ED Discharge Smartsets (include UTI, PNA, AOM, Anaphylaxis, Sexual Assault…) OR show use/teach the ED prescription folders– look in Dispo tab under 1) Prescription & Orders select New Order >

6. Behavioral Health (BH) Event notes will now ask for co-sign and file to Attending assigned at time of note creation so you don’t miss them – attendings check your In-Basket 😊
